Lake Front Condo W Pool Access Walk to Saugatuck

I rented a clean place in a nice spot but one key thing was missing HEAT. I checked in on a cold night late (as I had told them I would) and the house was 60. It was on "heat" & chose 72. Around 3am it was 63. Morning = 60. I text and was told they had adjusted the heat remotely and it should warm up. In the meantime, I could go downstairs (where it was 53 degrees) and use the fplace. No instructions as to how. I text. Reply text info didn't work. Then silence. They said sending service btwn 12-2. Service came. Furnace room locked. Waited. 25 min later - told abt key. Fixed. The mgmt co said "they fixed it aft I told them." No recourse. If you rented a hotel wld you pay for a room with no heat? A house with no front door? No roof? No bed? Even if they fixed it the next day. An implied contract of habitability says when one rents - basics are expected like heat. I clarified multiple times and yup, that's what they meant:THEY FIXED IT AFT I TOLD THEM so all good. Disappointed

We’re sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. While we understand that the heating issue was an inconvenience, we took immediate action to resolve it as quickly as possible by adjusting the thermostat remotely and dispatching a technician. Additionally, the fireplace provided an alternative source of heat. That said, exaggerated comparisons to having no roof, no door, or no bed are simply not fair. Issues can arise unexpectedly, but we always do our best to address them promptly and ensure our guests are comfortable. This is not an accurate review of this lovely property or of Mike Z Rentals.

Super clean and spacious condo! The host was really responsive and helpful. We felt so safe with our own personal code to enter and lock the unit. The kitchen was fully stocked, and furniture and bedding very comfortable……felt like home. Beautiful views from the deck and balcony. Awesome location and walkable distance to downtown Saugatuck. The host recommendations on restaurants and things to do were spot on. We would definitely recommend staying here and plan to be back!

The condo is nice and clean, great location and nicely appointed condo, great view from the pool and Michael is a responsive host. We just had too many issues. First, the condo lists a sofa bed but actually has a Murphy bed, not a sleeper. This wouldn’t be an issue, except nowhere in the condo or in the checkin instructions is this mentioned, so we spent 30 mins trying to figure out where the bed was before Michael finally called and explained it. Then, all the bedding for the bed, and all the bath and pool towels were all damp - like they’d been put through the dryer but not totally dried and then just put away wet, so my son slept on damp bedding. Then, there is a weird issue with the electronic door lock not engaging - the owner has some ridiculously complex process that we never could get to work, so ended up leaving it unlocked our entire stay - not exactly safe and maintenance was zero help. Upstairs toilet also continuously ran and wasn’t fixed for 2 days

Thank you for your feedback, and I’m really sorry to hear about the issues you encountered during your stay. I appreciate you pointing out the positives like the cleanliness, location, and views, but I’m disappointed that we fell short in several areas. Regarding the bed, I apologize for the confusion. We have updated our listings and check-in instructions to clearly indicate the type of bed available. I'm also sorry to hear about the damp bedding and towels; that’s not acceptable, and we have addressed this with our cleaning staff. The door lock is the same throughout the community, it can be tricky which is why we send both written and video instructions for both locking and unlocking procedures. The running toilet has been repaired with a new flapper installed. Your safety and comfort are top priorities, and I regret that we didn’t meet those standards during your stay. Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention.

We have been to Saugatuck, MI many times over the years. This was a very convenient place to stay close to town- quite walkable. Condo was quite nice and worked well for us and our two older children. Pool was also quite nice. Enjoyed watching fireworks on Venetian Festival weekend from Balcony over Lake Saugatuck. Overall, a very nice place to stay and would plan to come back.
